Rain

Been three weeks since I left home

Seems like the longest year I ever known
When I get back gonna rock her slow
all night long

Last night called her on the telephone
She said "Please come back. My love is grown."
I said, "Hush now baby, you can tell me everything
when the wheels touch down"

How could I let you fall through my hands

When now I fall to my knees
How could I believe that I was in command
You take me as you please

Been three weeks since I left home
Seems like the longest three years I ever known
When I get back gonna take you down slow
all night long

Y'know how I want you gonna show you again
Need you more than thunder needs a-rain
One false step this mountain's gonna blow
You better watch where you put your foot down

Bad Love

‘Scuse me if I don’t seem like myself today
Not “happy go” in my usual way
You see, that guy you know
Can’t come out to play
He’s havin a bad love day

Yes, it seems I’ve hit a streak of bad love
And that stuff don’t fool aroun’
Not sure when it began
Only know I’m half the man I was
Before bad love dragged me down

The calendar says Spring
But I’m hangin by a string of bad love
Please don’t tell a soul
That I’m on such a roll of bad love,

I only hope I’ve reached the peak of bad love
Cause that stuff don’t clown
No clue why it began
Only know I’m half the man I was
Before bad love brought me down

So if you see me makin eyes of sorrow
Better go and come back tomorrow
Maybe by then I’ll be myself again
N’leave behind these bad love blues
